What are the benefits of Goats’ milk?
Goats’ milk has different proteins and fats in comparison to cows’ milk
Goats’ milk, cheese and yoghurt has become not only mine, but many of my clients favourite breakfast option, served with stewed apple, cinnamon.
Goats’ milk not only tastes thick and creamy but it comes with many health benefits. Interestingly many people who have issues with cows’ milk can drink goats’ milk without any problem (however please note, if you are lactose intolerant than goats’ milk will not be suitable).
Health benefits of goats’ milk:
Goats’ milk is made up of smaller fat globules making it easier to digest than cows’ milk.
Goats’ milk is a source of high-quality protein.
It has significantly lower levels of alpha-S1-casein than cows’ milk (one of the reasons why some people may tolerate it better).
It contains less lactose than cows’ milk.
Goats’ milk is a rich source of calcium.
It supports healthy gut microbiome;
enhances the body’s ability to absorb nutrients;
contains pre-biotic carbohydrates .
Goats’ yogurt, frozen cherries, omega seeds and cinnamon powder is a delicious, high protein breakfast favourite. I like to add a scoop of collagen powder in with the yogurt for added texture and protein.
