How can we build stronger bones?
We need to increase osteoblast expression, which is essentially new bone formation that strengthens our skeleton. Bone growth is brought about through resistance training.
During a resistance workout, our skeletal muscles contract, pulling at their attachments on the bones, causing physical stress, thus making thicker, stronger bones and stimulating bone growth.
How can we build stronger muscles?
Resistance workouts cause microscopic tears or damage you could say to your muscles. Your body then goes into repair mode, delivering nutrients to muscle cells, repairing damage, and stimulating more micofibrils to grow the muscle.
This is why the body requires an adequate amount of amino acids (high quality protein) to deliver nutrients to damaged muscles from exercise so that they can repair, grow, and get stronger! 💪
