Go-To Flavour Profiles
I have put together my favourite go-to flavours when it comes to cooking. I tend to gravitate round these particular herbs, spices and sauces because I know them well and what dishes they may complement.
Please note, everyone will have their preferred flavours so you may just want to pick one or two of the e.g. spices from my lists. I hope this page makes cooking your Body Reset meals easier and tastier.
Asian Flavour
I love Asian flavoured dishes and have been inspired to create Asain cuisine from special experience at a cookery school in Thailand. The sauces, herbs and spices go well together, or you can just add the ones you like. I tend not to add extra Salt with Asian dishes as Tamari is salty enough.
Go-To Asian Flavours: Coconut Aminos (sweet), Tamari (salty), fresh Lime (sour), Sesame Oil, Basil, Coriander, Tahini (if wanting a thicker texture), Black Pepper.
Curried Flavour
I probably use curry flavours (mild spice level) the most as curry tastes can be very subtle, I also like to always add a little spice to my dishes.
Go-To Curry Flavours: Curry Powder (heat), Garam Masala (sweet), smoked Paprika (if wanting a deep heat), Turmeric (deep earthy taste), Cumin (nutty), dried coriander (herby), Black Pepper and Jersey Chilli flavoured Sea Salt.
Fresh Herbs
You can add fresh herbs additional to your vegetable allowance on programmes. Depending on what you like, fresh herbs can really liven up your food and are rich in medicinal properties.
Go-To Fresh Herbs: Coriander (lower blood sugar levels), Basil (can relieve joint pain), Mint (help relieve indigestion), Parsley (detoxing to the liver) and Dill (a good course of vitamin C).
Sweet Spices
There are many spices that can be added to your fruit or perhaps yogurt. My go to favourite has to be Cinnamon on apple when it comes to something sweet. Cinnamon contains anti-inflammatory properties and can lower blood sugar levels and cravings.
Go-To Flavours: Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Cardamon.
Jersey Sea Salt
I am a huge fan of Jersey Sea Salt, it contains include Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, Zinc and Iodine, which are all beneficial for a healthy diet. Due to the mineral rich waters of Jersey and the process in creating Jersey Sea Salt, the results are an unrefined, organic sea salt rich in beneficial minerals. I use a pinch at every meal!
Cold-Pressed Organic Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is my preferred oil to cook with, this is because coconut oil has a high content of the saturated fat lauric acid, which makes up around 40% of its total fat content. This makes coconut oil highly resistant to oxidation at high heat. For this reason, it is very suitable for high-heat cooking methods like frying.
